As time passes, I find that my two collection continues to grow, and I am running out of storage space. To help with this I decided to make a mobile shop cart. The goals for this with to increase my storage capacity (in particular for my air compressor) and add an additional work surface for some smaller projects. While my table saw workbench has an awesome work surface, sometimes a project does not need that much space. Since I work out of my garage, sometimes a smaller workstation is just more convenient.
So, I designed the cart to have a drawer for some tool storage to go along with a bigger open cabinet space for my air compressor and accessories. Along with that, I also decided to add some open shelving for easy access to wood glue, a mallet and other frequently used items. I made the outer surfaces study enough that I can hang things on them later if needed.
I also made the height compatible with my table saw workbench, so I can use them in tandem if needed. Overall, it was a fun project and added a new dimension of efficiency to my workshop.
